I’m incredibly proud to lead West Midlands Employers – it’s an incredible job and it gives me immense pride and leaves me with a smile on my face. 

WME has all the ambition of a small, creative ‘start up’ business and our office reflects that and the way we work – but what most people don’t know is that we are actually an organisation that is part of the public sector.  We sit right at the heart of Local Government in the West Midlands. 

The shareholders that own West Midlands Employers are the 32 Councils in the Region, so when we make profit, it goes right back to being reinvested in doing more great things for the public sector workforce.  That motivates us as a team to be the best that we can be.  We enjoy all the flexibility, innovation and culture of a small consultancy firm with the unique position of being owned and led by public sector organisations, that gives us influence and credibility. 

Our culture is what defined our values, Influence, Honesty, Excellence, Ambition, Respect and Trust; we measure ourselves by how well we perform against them and are constantly striving to reinterpret what they mean for us, the new ‘world of work’ and hybrid working continues to be something we are learning about.
