Working at West Midlands Employers
WME is the Regional Employers Organisation offering a range of services aimed at Local Councils and the wider Public Sector to support performance improvement at both an individual and organisational level. We are all about ‘people and leadership solutions’ helping our diverse client base make the best use of their greatest resource – their people. We are a small team of highly experienced individuals striving to provide a responsive and flexible service.
We are based in a modern office space in Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, where we regularly come together as functional and project teams to collaborate, and of course catch up. However, we do all also work from home and our client’s sites across the region – generally we’re in the office one or two days a week. We’re flexible in terms of working hours with many of the team working condensed or part-time arrangements – if this would suit you we’d be happy to discuss.
We offer fantastic benefits including:
- An excellent local government pension scheme
- Generous holiday entitlement from 24 up to 33 days (plus 2 extra statutory days and bank holidays) depending on job role and length of service
- Training and development opportunities
- Access to health and wellbeing support (including Occupational Health, Physiotherapy and Counselling Services)
- Eye care vouchers
Testimonials
Rebecca Lloyd, Senior Consultant - HR
Joining WME has been a great experience, from the onboarding process and initial days to settling in, I genuinely felt welcomed and supported by the entire team.
What makes WME standout is its supportive environment – it’s clear that we’re all invested in each other’s success. The organisation is commitment to work-life balance and understands that everyone has unique needs and circumstances. It is so rewarding to be part of a team where you feel valued both personally and professionally.
If you’re considering a career with WME, I can confidently say it’s a place where you’ll be part of something meaningful and make real impact with the organisations we partner and support.

“Everyone is so helpful and welcoming – I felt part of the team from my first day”
“Although WME is a small organisation, that doesn’t mean that the work you get involved in is small in scale and impact. We get involved in a wide range of projects and activities supporting public sector organisations across the whole of the region”
